High Holiday Tickets & Donations!
The High Holidays begin as noted above - please note that Erev Rosh HaShana is falling on Wednesday, October 2
Tickets are not necessary for members in good standing, you will be automatically listed in the registration list. However, we will still require registration to attend for the Rosh HaShana Seder so we can get a headcount for food. Click here to sign up for the Rosh HaShana Seder
We ask that our members consider signing up to contribute to the Break-Fast celebration, a special Oneg that traditionally concludes our HHD season each year, however, you are welcome to join us even if you forget. This is the season of Teshuvah, that marks the first day of our ReJEWvenation Year! We hope to see many of you returning to the synagogue to celebrate with us.
For Non-Members, tickets are $100 per person, with a $400 cap per family. This includes admission to all services and programs for the 10 Days of Awe.
We also offer free tickets to students and military personnel with a valid ID, and we honor reciprocity for members in good standing of other synagogues with proof from the rabbi or admin of your home shul. Accommodations may be made for others on a case-by-case basis. Please reach out to Melody Curtiss at treasurer@nershalomva.org if you need further financial assistance.

Major Holidays (Considered the highest religious observance):
Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, First Days of Sukkot, Simchat Torah, Passover and Shavuot. (Please Note that TeShuvah continues throughout the 10 days between Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur, and preparation for this holiest of times begins a full lunar month in advance.)
Non major holidays (Work is permitted but due to the holiday, people may have events and services):
Chanukah, Purim
Our observation usually begins with Erev services: The Jewish calendar date begins at sundown of the night beforehand. Thus all holiday observances begin the night before, and last through the day following. Some holidays last more than one day, and continue through sundown of the last day of observance. The week between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur is considered most holy, and many days there are prayer services or special events or family observances in our Jewish Community.
