Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, our next book club meeting will be December 1st instead of the last Wednesday in November. We will still meet on zoom at 10:30 am. We are now reading The Last Kings of Shanghai by Jonathan Kaufman. Set in 1936 Shanghai, this book tells the story of two rival Jewish families with their wealthy businesses and political doings, against the backdrop of rising fascism in the west and the Maoist revolution around the corner from them in China.
