Purim Party
Saturday, March 15, 2025 • 15 Adar 5785
7:00 PM - 10:00 PMOur annual Adult Purim Party! Everyone 13 and up are welcome. And its all free this year, even the 1990s alcohol ( Sorry- no thirty year scotch) This year the theme is THE 90'S!! Why, you may ask? Our building was built in 1994 so we are celebrating our home of 30 years. Here are the details Suggested costumes are something 1990s ish. (Just google 1990s fashion trends if you are too young to remember) We are hoping you can bring a photo of yourself - or a place you associate with- from around 1994. We will put them out and people can guess whose pics they are. We will of course have 90s music and games. 90s food (get ready for fondue!) along with hamantaschen and hummus. There will also be an auction. Along with tickets to Art Factory events, and the Manassas Symphony at Hylton, Andrea Savitch's Unique Travel Events has donated a Dream Weekendz package. This is a custom planned weekend, 2 days one night and includes a one night hotel stay, value is $500. Whatever else happens depends on you! See you there!

This is a course for Jewish people over 18 who wish to have a B' Mitzvah service and celebration. Whether you converted to Judaism, weren't raised in a shul, were raised in a shul that didn't allow your gender to have such a service, or even if you had one at 13 and are ready for a do-over, you are welcome in this class. You will learn or relearn some staples of Jewish liturgy, Torah, hone D'var Torah writing and service-leading skills, and generally have a space to ask whatever questions about Judaism you have felt haven't been answered adequately for you up to this point (I can't promise to have a more adequate answer, but let's talk about it!). We will collectively discuss dates and services for class members to lead and celebrate their becoming a Bar/Bat/MiBeit Mitzvah. Classes will meet in person. If you are interested and cannot attend a class, please let Rabbi Lizz know. -
